Top Flight Academy for Advanced Juniors
QUALIFICATIONS
Top Flight Academy is a comprehensive program that trains advanced and up-and-coming competitive players. We group players by level: developmental, intermediate, and high-level tournament players who need serious training and conditioning. Our teaching professionals are former top junior players who competed at the highest levels of the game — they know what it takes to rise to the top of the field. We place players according to UTR ratings and individual results. Our players win. #PlayBIG
Players must have a verified UTR rating to register for this program. This is a competitive, level-based program. We evaluate players weekly. Each week we adjust players on court, based on their current ratings and results.
- LEVEL 1 [ADVANCED] UTR levels 5.0 and above.
- This group is for high-level players who commit to the effort and training that maximize their potential. Mental training is key at this level — tenacity and dedication win matches. We strongly encourage players to attend at least twice a week. Players must compete in UTR match play and/or USTA/UTR tournaments to maintain and improve their UTR rating. This program is for competitive players, and we expect every student to compete.
- LEVEL 2 [INTERMEDIATE] UTR levels 3.5-4.99
- This group is for intermediate players who commit to training and improving their skills. This is the point where players need to dig deep to reach the next level. Repetition and hard work produce match wins. We strongly encourage players to attend at least twice a week. Players must compete in UTR match play and/or USTA/UTR tournaments to maintain and improve their UTR rating. This program is for competitive players, and we expect every student to compete.
- LEVEL 3 [DEVELOPMENTAL] UTR levels 1.0-3.49
- This group takes ambitious young players from casual play to competitive play. Coaches work on footwork, ball control, point construction, and match play. We strongly recommend that players attend at least twice a week. Players must compete in UTR match play and/or USTA/UTR tournaments to keep a verified UTR rating and to apply the skills they learn in group practice. Competitive matches are the fastest way to improve.

DETAILS – WESSEN TOP FLIGHT PROGRAM
Students may choose any of the four days we offer each week. Top Flight Academy and Top Flight Developmental meet Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. The more days you attend, the better your price per hour — and your game will reach new heights. Choose your days carefully, because days are not interchangeable. We follow a strict policy to avoid overcrowding. You may, however, choose a different schedule each session if the class has room. Keep in mind that current students receive priority registration for the following session.
We require Top Flight Advanced Academy students to compete in match play and tournaments. Every player must keep a verified UTR rating and play UTR and USTA events.
Top Flight Advanced Academy students receive a special discount on UTR Match Play. All players can compete in our weekly UTR Match Play for a discount rate. This is Verified UTR Match Play with results that count toward a player’s UTR rating.

SESSION DATES
We separate the Top Flight Academy program into six 6-week sessions. In addition, we offer Complete Sessions that combine those sessions for an added discount and secure the student’s day(s). Our complete sessions are very popular, as we fill up quickly, and they allow the student to have a set schedule.

Important note: When you choose a complete session, please choose your number of days per week wisely. After registration, you cannot decrease the number of days. Also, if you want to add a day after the session begins, we will add the extra day(s) as a regular 6-week session. You may, however, switch your days if another day has room.

UTR MATCH PLAY
The Top Flight Academy requires match play and tournament play. The best way to practice for a match is to play a match! We expect our Top Flight Academy students to participate in match play and tournaments throughout the year. All players in the Top Flight Academy program must create a UTR profile. Wessen ITC offers UTR match play on Friday, 6:30 PM and Sunday 5:00 PM. UTR Match Play gives players the opportunity to develop match skills and raise their UTR rating on a weekly basis. It also fulfills the the Academy requirement for competitive play. Players receive Verified Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) credit for all matches played.
