PLAYER QUALIFICATIONS

Players must have a verified UTR rating to register for this program. This is a competitive, level-based program. Players will be assigned a site and separated by level. Players are adjusted daily on court, based on current UTR ratings and performance

We invite our current and past High School Training and Junior Excellence players to register for Top Flight Summer Camp. Summer presents an excellent opportunity to improve skills and performance. Players will have the opportunity to obtain a UTR rating during the camp’s UTR Match Play program.

Top Fight Summer Camp is a program for competitive junior players. The camp offers developmental training for up-and-coming competitive players, as well as serious training and conditioning for high-level tournament players. Our tennis professionals are players that have competed at the highest levels of the game, and they know what it takes to rise to the top of the field. 

Players are separated by levels in accordance with UTR ratings & individual player results. We have a formula that improves players’ skills and changes results. Our players win matches. #PlayBIG

CAMP INFORMATION
  • CAMP DATES: June 2-August 27
    • The first two weeks of camp (June 3-12) are held indoors at Wessen Indoor Tennis Club, afternoons only.
      • Due to the school calendar, the schedule for the first two weeks of camp are: June 3-12, 4:30-6:30 pm;
    • Camp moves outdoors on Monday, June 16 with morning AND afternoon sessions.
    • On rainy days, camp moves indoors to Wessen Indoor Tennis Club, therefore we do not cancel camp due to weather conditions.
  • SUMMER CAMP COMPETITION
    • Top Flight Summer Camp is designed for competitive players. With that in mind, we offer plenty of opportunities for our students to compete during the summer months. Summer Camp students are expected to participate in match play and competitive tournaments. There is no substitute for competition – players must compete to improve skills and results.
  • MORNING SESSION (Monday through Thursday) 10:00a-12:00 PM (assigned)
  • AFTERNOON SESSION (Monday & Wednesday) 1:00-3:00 PM at BHHS (all players)
  • AFTERNOON UTR MATCH PLAY (Tuesday & Thursday) 12:00 PM at BHHS (all players)
  • FRIDAY MATCH PLAY (optional) 3:00 PM at Wessen Indoor Tennis Club
PROGRAM COST

Top Flight Summer Camp is a full-summer, full-day program. Players purchase a package of visits that can be used at anytime throughout the summer. Players choose their own schedule with their purchased visits, and each 2-hour visit counts as one “visit.” UTR Match Play also counts as one visit. Players that attend both Tuesday and Thursday match play in the same week can attend Friday match play at no additional cost (during the same week.)

Top Flight Summer Camp has several different sites. Outdoors at Bloomfield Hills High School, outdoors at South Hills Middle School, and indoors at Wessen Indoor Tennis Club. Our Camp Director, Armand Molino, assigns players to a morning site based on UTR ratings. Afternoon sessions are at Bloomfield Hills High School for all players. Camp moves indoors to Wessen Indoor Tennis Club in the event of inclement weather or unforseen circumstances.

UTR MATCH PLAY

Top Flight Academy players are expected to compete in match play and/or tournaments. All players in the Top Flight Academy program are REQUIRED to have a UTR profile. Follow this link to register for a FREE UTR membership. UTR Match Play gives players the opportunity to develop match skills and raise their UTR rating on a weekly basis. Additionally, it fulfills the the Academy requirement for competitive play. Players receive Verified Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) credit for all matches played.
